Pakistan and China have welcomed the Iran-US peace agreement and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting regional peace and tability.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during which both leaders welcomed the understandings reached between Iran and the United States. They described the consensus as an important step towards advancing sustainable peace and stability in the region.
According to details, the Chinese foreign minister praised Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic outreach and robust mediation efforts, stating that the agreement had helped create favourable conditions for sustained engagement between Iran and the United States.
Wang Yi also commended Pakistan for its contribution to international peace and stability. Ishaq Dar, in turn, appreciated China’s continued support for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and acknowledged Beijing’s important role in promoting regional peace and stability.
Both leaders underscored the importance of implementing the understandings reached between the parties and maintaining dialogue to achieve the peaceful settlement of outstanding issues. Ishaq Dar said the opening of the Strait of Hormuz remained important for the global economy, energy security and international trade.
The two sides also discussed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China. Ishaq Dar stressed the importance of advancing CPEC 2.0 and further strengthening bilateral economic and investment cooperation.
Both sides agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on key bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest.
