Police in Rawalpindi have uncovered a large network allegedly involved in producing and live-streaming obscene online content, arresting 11 suspects, including a foreign national, during a raid in the Rawat area.
Authorities said mobile phones, laptops and other equipment allegedly used for recording and live streaming were seized during the operation.
According to police, the operation was conducted after receiving information about an alleged network involved in creating and broadcasting explicit online content.
During the raid, officers arrested four men and seven women from the premises. Police said the suspects were allegedly recording videos and conducting live streams through mobile cameras.
Foreign national among those arrested
Among the individuals taken into custody was a Nigerian citizen, police said. According to sources, the foreign suspect attempted to flee the scene during the operation but was successfully apprehended by law enforcement personnel.
Police also recovered a 9mm pistol and ammunition from the suspect's possession.
Authorities confiscated mobile phones, laptops and other electronic equipment allegedly used in the production and live streaming of online content.
Investigators are examining the recovered devices to gather further evidence and determine the full scope of the operation.
Suspects accused of uploading content
Initial investigations suggest that the suspects allegedly uploaded videos to various websites. Police sources said the group is believed to have been involved in creating and distributing online content through multiple digital platforms.
Further forensic analysis of the seized equipment is expected to provide additional details about the alleged activities.

Rawat Police have formally registered a case against the arrested suspects and launched further investigations.
Police said they have also contacted the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to expand the scope of the inquiry and examine possible links beyond Rawalpindi.
