Funeral prayers for the personnel martyred in the Muzaffarabad helicopter crash were offered at Chaklala Garrison in Rawalpindi, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Asim Munir and other senior dignitaries in attendance.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the funeral prayers for the martyrs of the Muzaffarabad accident were held at Chaklala Garrison. Political and military leaders attended the ceremony to pay their respects.
The last rites of two deceased Christians were held at Christ Church in Rawalpindi. Senior political and military officials also attended the services.
Paying tribute to the martyrs' professionalism and devotion to duty, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said their sacrifices would remain a guiding light for future generations. He added that the nation stood firmly with the families of the martyrs.
ISPR said all martyrs would be laid to rest in their native areas with full military honours.
The development follows the crash of a Pakistan Army Aviation Mi-17 helicopter near Muzaffarabad on June 10. According to ISPR, the aircraft crashed shortly after take-off due to a technical fault, resulting in the martyrdom of all personnel on board.
