The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) at Central Jail Karachi on Tuesday extended the interim bail of actor Muneeb Butt in a kidnapping for ransom case registered by Airport Police.
The court issued the order during a hearing of the case, where the actor appeared in person before the judge.
The ATC at Central Jail conducted proceedings in the kidnapping for ransom case filed against Muneeb Butt. During the hearing, the actor appeared before the court, after which the court extended his interim bail.
According to case details, Airport Police registered the kidnapping for ransom case against Muneeb Butt on April 23. The FIR was lodged on the complaint of the plaintiff, Mutal Khan.
Allegations in FIR
According to the case, the actor is accused of involvement in the alleged kidnapping of the complainant along with other accomplices. The FIR states that the accused allegedly transferred cryptocurrency from the complainant’s account.
Investigators have included allegations that the cryptocurrency transfer took place while the complainant was being held by the suspects.
Complainant allegedly released after transfer
According to the case record, the complainant was later released in Karachi’s Korangi area after the cryptocurrency transfer had been completed.
The allegations remain part of the ongoing investigation, while court proceedings in the matter continue.
With the latest hearing concluded, the Anti-Terrorism Court extended Muneeb Butt’s interim bail, allowing him legal protection while the case remains under consideration.
