Pakistan and the United Kingdom will hold talks in Islamabad next week as part of efforts to promote regional peace and stability, sources said.
According to sources, a high-level British delegation is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Monday for meetings with Pakistani officials.
Sources said the visiting British delegation will hold talks at the Foreign Office during its visit. The delegation will also meet Pakistan’s leadership as both sides review regional security challenges and cooperation on peace and stability.
Hamish Faulkner to lead UK side
According to sources, the British delegation will be led by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hamish Faulkner. He will represent the UK in talks focused on regional peace, stability and security cooperation with Pakistan.
Sources said both sides will hold consultations on terrorism threats emerging from Afghanistan. The discussions are expected to focus on the regional security situation and measures needed to address cross-border threats.
Pakistan’s peace efforts
The upcoming talks come amid Pakistan’s continued diplomatic efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region.
