A severe heatwave continued across most parts of the country on Friday, with the highest temperature of 51 degrees Celsius recorded in Dadu and Jacobabad.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said that hot and dry weather is likely to persist in most areas during the night, while rain accompanied by strong winds, dust storms and thunder is expected at isolated places in Kashmir and north-eastern Punjab.
The PMD has stated that temperatures reached 50 degrees Celsius in Sibi, Turbat, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana and Mohenjo-daro, while Khairpur and Sakrand recorded 49 degrees Celsius.
It is pertinent to note that the PMD has already issued a heatwave alert for various parts of the country until May 31.
