Former Pakistan cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq’s 52nd birthday was celebrated during the Hajj pilgrimage by television presenter and singer Fakhr-e-Alam alongside former fast bowler Wasim Akram.
Fakhr-e-Alam said Misbah-ul-Haq – whom he termed as a source of inspiration for undertaking the spiritual journey – had not informed them that it was his birthday.
“Our brother Misbah Ul Haq, who was instrumental in inspiring us to undertake this great journey, did not tell us that it was his birthday today,” Fakhr-e-Alam wrote on social media.
He said that after learning about the occasion, he and Wasim Akram went out to arrange a cake for “the most successful Test captain in Pakistan’s Test cricket history”.
Fakhr-e-Alam also offered prayers for the former cricketer, wishing him a long, healthy and pious life, and prayed for the acceptance of his Hajj pilgrimage.
In a separate social media post, Fakhr-e-Alam praised Saudi police personnel and workers serving pilgrims during Hajj.
He said the officials continued their duties in extreme heat to ensure the safety and comfort of millions of pilgrims in the holy lands.
Fakhr-e-Alam said the dedication and sacrifice of the workers reflected their commitment to both duty and faith, and prayed that Allah grants them the highest reward and mercy.
