Field Marshal Asim Munir has concluded an official visit to Iran, where he held a series of high-level meetings aimed at supporting regional de-escalation and advancing reconciliation efforts between the United States and Iran.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the discussions resulted in “positive progress” toward a potential final understanding between the two sides amid ongoing diplomatic engagement.
During his visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir met top Iranian leadership, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.
The meetings focused on regional peace, stability, and strengthening ongoing consultations aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement in the broader US-Iran diplomatic context.
Pakistan’s mediation role highlighted
The ISPR stated that Pakistan’s engagement in the process is part of broader efforts to reduce tensions following the ceasefire of April 8, 2026, and to encourage constructive dialogue between Washington and Tehran.

Officials described the meetings as taking place in a “positive and constructive atmosphere,” which reportedly helped advance the mediation process over the past 24 hours.
