The production of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King has come under pressure after leaked footage and an AI-generated fan edit went viral online. The incident has raised serious concerns over on-set security as filming enters its final phase in Mumbai.
The makers have now strengthened security measures to prevent further unauthorized sharing of content from the film.
The issue escalated after a 15-minute AI-generated fan edit surfaced online, reportedly created using leaked footage, paparazzi clips, and still images from the set of King.
The video claimed to present a “mini version” of the film directed by Siddharth Anand, quickly spreading across social platforms before being taken down after reports from fans and the production team.
According to early reports, the leak emerged shortly after key climax scenes were also circulated online.
Security tightened at Mumbai shooting location
Following the leaks, security was significantly increased around the Ghodbunder Road filming location on the outskirts of Mumbai.
The area, being publicly accessible, has posed ongoing challenges for the production team. However, crucial sequences and action scenes are now being shot under strict surveillance to avoid further breaches.
Sources say the production team had already been dealing with multiple leak incidents over several weeks, including stills from the climax and footage from international schedules.
Production nearing final stage
King is currently in the final phase of production, with approximately two months of shooting still remaining.
The team is simultaneously working on patchwork scenes, action sequences, and visual effects while continuing regular filming.
Insiders suggest that the film is expected to wrap principal photography by the end of July, although post-production work will continue afterward.
Director Siddharth Anand has publicly urged audiences not to circulate any leaked material from the sets.
He emphasized that the team is working intensively to deliver a strong cinematic experience and requested fans to wait for the official release.
Production members have also tightened on-ground monitoring to prevent further unauthorized recordings or distribution of footage.
