An Islamabad additional sessions court has issued a detailed verdict in the Sana Yousaf murder case, awarding the death penalty to convict Umar Hayat after finding the charge proven.
Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka also imposed a fine of Rs2 million and directed that the compensation be paid to the legal heirs of the deceased.
The court handed Umar Hayat a separate 10-year prison sentence under robbery charges, along with a fine of Rs200,000. Failure to pay the fine would result in an additional two months in prison.
Under Section 499, the convict was sentenced to another 10 years in prison and fined Rs200,000.
The court also awarded one year imprisonment and a fine of Rs100,000 under Section 411-L.
The verdict stated that all prison terms, except the death sentence, would run concurrently.
The court has also ordered that the rented vehicle used in the incident be returned to its owner.
