More than 35 militants belonging to Fitna al Hindustan were killed during an intelligence-based operation in the Mangla Zarghoon mountain area of Quetta.
According to details surfaced on Sunday, special assistant to the Balochistan chief minister, Shahid Rind has said that the operation had been under way since May 13. He said three key commanders of the militant group were arrested during the action.
He said significant gains were achieved during the operation, while several militant camps and hideouts were destroyed. Important information had also been obtained from the arrested commanders, and further operations were continuing.
Shahid Rind said the operation was essential for peace and stability in Balochistan and Pakistan. He added that the circle around facilitators and backers of Fitna al Khawarij was being tightened, and the state would continue its actions until terrorism was completely eliminated.
