Two influential women accused of drug trafficking escaped from police custody in Sukkur.
Police said Naseema Khoso and Zakia Khoso had been arrested a day earlier during an operation against drug dealers in Khoso Goth. During the grand operation against narcotics sellers, police arrested 19 suspects, including two women, and recovered a large quantity of drugs from their possession. All the suspects had been placed in the lock-up at Site police station.
Police officials said raids were under way for the re-arrest of the escaped women. Two other women allegedly linked to the drug trade, Zahida Khoso and Abida Khoso, had also been arrested.
