Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has received the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in recognition of his distinguished services to cricket.
Afridi said receiving the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz from Pakistan was a matter of great honour for him. He said the award was not only an honour for Shahid Afridi, but also a source of pride for the entire Pakistani nation.

The former captain said the love, prayers and support of the people had brought him to this stage.
Afridi dedicated the award to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland.
In a statement shared on X, Afridi said: “Receiving the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz from Pakistan is an honour for me. This is not just Shahid Afridi’s honour but the pride of the entire Pakistani nation. It is your love, prayers and support that have brought me this far. This award is also in the name of those martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland.”
