Russia has successfully tested its new Sarmat missile, with the range of 35,000 kilometres.
According to details released on Wednesday, the Russia’s Strategic Missile Forces commander, Sergei Karakaev, briefed President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday regarding the successful trial.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said Russia would formally induct the Sarmat missile into military service by the end of the current year.
He said the missile’s warhead capability is up to four times greater than comparable Western systems, while its range exceeds 35,000 kilometres.
Putin has said that work on the Poseidon nuclear submarine and a nuclear-powered cruise missile is in its final stage.
