Renowned Pakistani singer Falak Shabbir has faced backlash after calling for restrictions on wearing short clothing in public places.
The controversy began after he shared a social media post praising the Punjab government’s actions against vape pods, while also urging authorities to consider introducing a dress code in public areas.
In his statement, Falak Shabbir said that, as a father of two daughters, he believes a code of conduct regarding clothing in public spaces such as markets and roads should be considered.
He added that such measures, in his view, could help protect social and cultural values in society.
Demand for ban on short clothing
The singer went further to suggest that wearing short clothes in public places should be restricted.
His comments quickly drew attention and sparked debate among social media users, with many questioning the practicality and implications of such a proposal.
Support from Sara Khan
Falak Shabbir’s wife and actress Sara Khan also shared his message on social media, amplifying the discussion online.
The remarks have divided opinion on social platforms, with some supporting his call for cultural preservation while others criticized it as unnecessary regulation of personal freedom.
