China has said it is prepared to work with the United States on the basis of equality and mutual respect, while welcoming US President Donald Trump’s forthcoming visit to Beijing.
According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun, Beijing remains willing to address differences with Washington through dialogue and consultation.
He said the leaders of both countries would hold detailed discussions on bilateral relations, global peace and development during the visit.
The spokesman added that heads-of-state diplomacy continued to play an important role in guiding China-US relations at a time of global uncertainty.
Earlier, before departing for China, President Trump said he would discuss the situation in Iran with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Trump also said President Xi was expected to visit the United States before the end of 2026.
