The government has extended its ongoing austerity drive until 13 June 2026, according to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division following approval from the prime minister.
According to details released on Monday, the prime minister approved the immediate extension of the measures on the recommendations of the committee overseeing fuel conservation and austerity steps.
The notification stated that restrictions imposed under fuel conservation and additional austerity measures will remain in force until 13 June.
It added that the 50 per cent reduction in fuel supply for official vehicles will continue.
The decision to keep 60 per cent of government vehicles off the roads has also been retained, the notification said.
