Hungary’s designated health minister, Zsolt Hegedus, drew widespread attention after performing an energetic dance outside parliament during celebrations marking the formation of the country’s new government.
Thousands gathered in the capital, Budapest, for the swearing-in ceremony of new Prime Minister Peter Magyar, where Hegedus repeated his well-known air guitar dance on the steps of the parliament.
He had earlier performed the same dance during celebrations following the party’s election victory in April, after which he gained considerable popularity on social media.
During the ceremony, supporters celebrated by waving flags, dancing to music and chanting slogans.
Peter Magyar’s Tisza party secured a historic victory, ending the long-standing political dominance of the former prime minister.
