Haripur witnessed a strong turnout of young job seekers at a large employment fair, highlighting the growing demand for skills and career opportunities.
Students and fresh graduates made up the majority of participants, eager to connect with employers and explore their future paths.
The employment fair saw over 1,500 attendees from diverse educational and professional backgrounds.
The event was organised in collaboration with the Directorate of Youth Affairs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Haripur Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Participants had direct access to recruiters and trainers at the venue.
Organisers provided more than 50 job openings, over 200 internship opportunities, and around 1,000 training placements, offering a comprehensive platform for career growth.
Many attendees described the fair as a valuable chance to interact with multiple employers under one roof.
It allowed them to better understand industry expectations and explore different career paths in a competitive job market.
Officials emphasise youth empowerment
Chief guest Babar Nawaz Khan praised the enthusiasm of young participants.
He stressed that empowering youth through such initiatives is vital for economic development.
Focus on skills and training
Syeda Amina Gilani highlighted the importance of technical and digital skills in today’s job market.
She pointed to ongoing efforts by the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission to expand vocational training programmes across the country.
Malik Umair Khalid underscored the need for greater private sector engagement.
He emphasised mentoring and hiring young talent at the local level to address unemployment challenges.
The event also saw participation from legal experts, religious scholars, educators, and government officials.
They collectively described the initiative as a positive step toward tackling unemployment and supporting youth development.
