Trishala Dutt has revealed she once considered entering Bollywood—not out of passion for acting, but to be closer to her father, Sanjay Dutt.
Trishala, 38, spoke openly about her early thoughts of joining the film industry.
During her appearance on the Inside Thoughts Out Loud Podcast, she said she had considered Bollywood when she was younger, but her motivation was deeply personal.
“I wasn’t thinking that I wanted to be an actor because acting is my passion,” she said.
“I just wanted to be closer to my dad,” she added, explaining that her interest in films stemmed from a desire to spend more time with him.
Sanjay Dutt’s advice on career choices
Trishala also highlighted the guidance she received from her father.
She praised Sanjay Dutt for encouraging her to pursue her true calling rather than stepping into Bollywood without passion.
Recalling their conversation, she shared that her father asked if acting was truly her calling.
When she admitted her reasons, he advised her to focus on what she genuinely loved, reminding her that being his daughter would not automatically guarantee success in the industry.
During the conversation, Trishala also touched on her mental health journey.
She has often been vocal about her struggles, and her latest remarks added another layer of honesty to her public persona.
Background and family
For context, Trishala is the daughter of Sanjay Dutt and his first wife, Richa Sharma.
She was born in 1988 and has largely stayed away from Bollywood, choosing a different professional path as a therapist.
