Faisal Edhi has responded to allegations of mistreatment at an orphanage run by the Edhi Foundation, calling the claims baseless.
The controversy erupted after a viral video raised serious concerns about the condition of children under care.
The issue came to light after influencer Taha Akram shared a video online, claiming that orphans at an Edhi-run childcare home were being mistreated and appeared unwell.
The footage quickly spread across social media, prompting widespread concern and questions about the foundation’s current standards compared to its past reputation.

The Edhi Foundation was established by the late Abdul Sattar Edhi and Bilquis Edhi, widely regarded as icons of humanitarian service.
Known for caring for hundreds of orphans and providing extensive welfare services, the foundation has long enjoyed public trust and generous support from Pakistanis.
Faisal Edhi rejects claims
Responding to the controversy, Faisal Edhi dismissed the allegations as “propaganda” aimed at damaging his reputation and the foundation’s credibility.
He said the organisation continues its long-standing mission of social work and is being unfairly targeted through what he described as false claims.
Open invitation for transparency
Faisal Edhi announced that an open forum would be held at the same orphanage in question. He invited the public to visit, meet the children, and review evidence regarding their care.
He said the move was intended to ensure transparency and address public concerns directly.
Faisal Edhi also stated that he is prepared to pursue legal action over the allegations. He mentioned that the decision comes after discussions with his son Saad Edhi and Zafar Abbas of the JDC Foundation.
He added that they have been authorised to proceed legally on his behalf if necessary.
