Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has thanked United States President Donald Trump for extending the Iran ceasefire at Pakistan’s request.
According to details that emerged on Wednesday, the prime minister expressed hope that a comprehensive peace agreement would be reached in Islamabad.
He said that, in his personal capacity and on behalf of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, he conveyed gratitude to President Trump.

The prime minister stated that President Trump had graciously accepted Pakistan’s request and agreed to extend the ceasefire.
He said the extension would assist in advancing diplomatic efforts. The premier added that Pakistan would honour the trust placed in it and continue sincere efforts for a peaceful resolution of the dispute.
He expressed hope that both sides would continue to respect the ceasefire.
