International Cricket Council General Manager Cricket Wasim Khan has decided to step down from his post.
According to a cricket website, Wasim Khan will relinquish his responsibilities at the end of June after four years in the role. He assumed the position in May 2022, succeeding Geoff Allardice. Wasim Khan had earlier served as Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Wasim Khan will take up new responsibilities from July. He was the first British-born Pakistani to play county cricket in the United Kingdom. Several senior officials at the ICC have also resigned over the past two years.
Sanjog Gupta was appointed Chief Executive Officer following Geoff Allardice’s tenure, while Chris Tetley and Alex Marshall have also parted ways with the ICC.
