Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said Pakistan remains in constant contact with Iran as part of its role as a mediator.
He added that Islamabad is actively working to promote dialogue and ensure the continuation of negotiations.
Tarar confirmed that Iran has not yet provided formal confirmation of its delegation’s participation in the Islamabad peace talks.
He stressed that Iran’s decision is crucial, especially with the ceasefire deadline approaching.
Ceasefire deadline approaching
According to the minister, the current ceasefire is set to end at 4:50 am on Wednesday, April 22.
He noted that participation in the talks before the expiry of the truce is extremely important for maintaining diplomatic momentum.
Tarar said Pakistan has made consistent and sincere efforts to convince the Iranian leadership to take part in the second round of talks.
He added that these diplomatic engagements are continuing as part of Pakistan’s broader peace initiative.
