Pakistan has intensified diplomatic efforts to help end the conflict between the United States and Iran and to facilitate a peace agreement.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The two discussed the Islamabad talks, the regional situation, and bilateral cooperation in detail.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Ishaq Dar emphasized that continuous dialogue and coordination are essential for the early resolution of current issues. He said that only through negotiations can peace and stability be promoted in the region and beyond.
Ishaq Dar and Abbas Araghchi agreed to remain in close contact. They also agreed to arrange a telephone conversation the same day between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to advance matters at the highest level.
It is worth noting that earlier, US President Donald Trump confirmed a second round of talks with Iran to be held in Pakistan. Following this, the telephone contact between Ishaq Dar and Abbas Araghchi took place.
Separately, Ishaq Dar also spoke by phone with Poland’s Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski. The two leaders appreciated the positive progress in relations between Pakistan and Poland.
According to the spokesperson, they also exchanged views on regional and global issues. The Polish foreign minister praised Pakistan’s efforts in facilitating a ceasefire between Iran and the United States, as well as its continued diplomatic engagement for peace and stability in the region.
