Captain Babar Azam struck a composed unbeaten 71 as Peshawar Zalmi secured a measured win over Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League match at the Karachi stadium on Wednesday.
Quetta Gladiators, sent in to bat, posted 154 all out in their allotted 20 overs after a mixed display with the bat. Hasan Nawaz top-scored with 37, while Rilee Rossouw contributed 26. Late blows failed to lift the total beyond a modest score.

The bowling effort was shared, with Mohammad Basit and Sufiyan Muqeem claiming three wickets apiece to restrict the Gladiators.
In reply, Zalmi chased the target with assurance, reaching 156 for two in 18.3 overs. Mohammad Haris provided early impetus with 35, before Babar Azam anchored the innings with authority.
Kusal Mendis added 21, while Aaron Hardie remained unbeaten on 18 to see the side home.
Zalmi maintained control throughout the chase, with their captain’s steady hand ensuring a comfortable finish in the 23rd match of the tournament.
