Pakistan women’s cricket captain Fatima Sana has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to launch a women’s cricket league soon.
Speaking in Lahore, she said better structure and international exposure can significantly improve team performance ahead of major tournaments.
Fatima Sana emphasized the need for a proper women’s cricket league in Pakistan, saying it has been long awaited.
She believes that introducing foreign players in domestic competitions will help raise the overall standard of women’s cricket in the country.
Strong focus on World Cup preparation
The national captain highlighted that the team is finally getting a chance for full preparation ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
She noted that this is an important phase for building combinations and improving match readiness at the international level.
International tours boost confidence
Fatima Sana mentioned that Zimbabwe’s team is touring Pakistan before the World Cup, while Ireland is also scheduled to visit.
She said these series will help the team gain valuable experience and improve performance under different conditions.
The captain said players have been encouraged to adopt an aggressive and attacking style of cricket.
She added that domestic performances have already shown promising results with this approach.
Fatima Sana stressed the importance of building a strong combination for the T20 World Cup.
She said in T20 cricket, a single player can change the outcome of a match, so consistency against all teams is crucial.
As an all-rounder, she also expressed her personal goal of contributing more to the team’s victories.
