Indian actress Shilpa Shetty has opened up about a painful incident from her early film career, revealing how she continued working even after suffering a burn injury on set.
Speaking during a recent appearance on the Tomorrow, Today Show, the actress reflected on the challenges she faced in the early days of her journey in the film industry.
The Rishtey actress recalled that she suffered a burn injury while performing a scene involving lighting equipment.
She explained that her back accidentally touched an HMI light while she was stepping out of the frame during a shot.
“I remember I got burned by HMI light in a shot on my back. The shot was that I had to get out of frame and there was a baby light at the back and my back touched it,” she said.
Shetty noted that she did not immediately realise the extent of the injury.
“When you get a burn, you don’t realise it that very second, only when it starts burning, you realise it,” she added.
Returning to work despite injury
Despite the injury, the Aag actress returned to the set the very next day.
However, she faced difficulty wearing her costume due to the burn on her back.
“I still showed up the next day. I had to wear an outfit next day, but I couldn’t wear it because I was burnt, so I wore it from the front and asked them to stitch it with threads so that I don’t have to zip it,” she shared.
The Sukhee actress explained that she chose to continue working to avoid causing losses to the production team.
She emphasised that she has always remained committed to her work, even in challenging situations.
