Brazil fast bowler Laura Cardoso has set a new world record in women’s T20 International cricket.
She took nine wickets for four runs in three overs against Lesotho Women, producing the most remarkable bowling figures in the format. The spell is the best ever recorded in T20I cricket, surpassing all previous marks in both men’s and women’s matches. The previous best in men’s cricket was held by Bhutan’s Sonam Yeshey, who took eight wickets in 2025, while in women’s T20Is Indonesia’s Rohmalia had taken seven wickets.
Brazil scored 202 runs after batting first. Lesotho were dismissed for 13 runs, with Cardoso’s bowling proving decisive.
Brazil won the match by a margin of 189 runs.
