Renowned actress Resham has forgiven Dr Omer Adil after placing a condition that he take part in food distribution for the underprivileged.
A recent controversy in Pakistan’s entertainment circle took a reconciliatory turn when host Dr Omer Adil appeared on Resham’s programme to issue a formal apology for his earlier derogatory remarks.
The apology, delivered on air, followed days of criticism over his comments, which had caused distress to the veteran actress.
During the programme, Dr Omer admitted that his words had led to emotional harm. He expressed regret, stating that he felt he had “fallen in his own eyes” because of the incident.
Referring to his seniority, he said he ought to have acted with greater responsibility and respect, likening his position to that of a guardian. He added that reflection and faith led him to recognise his mistake and to offer a public apology.
Resham, known for her composed manner, responded with restraint. Standing beside him, she said she had forgiven him for the sake of Allah, adding that forgiveness remains a valued virtue.
She, however, attached a condition, saying that her forgiveness would feel complete only when Dr Omer joined her in distributing food among the underprivileged.
Dr Omer accepted the condition and agreed to take part in the charitable effort, offering his support in organising the initiative.
The exchange ended on a positive note, with both urging the public to adopt forgiveness, observing that seeking and granting it reflects strength rather than weakness.
