Bangladeshi cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has once again expressed his wish to represent the national team.
The 39-year-old posted a message on social media, stating that his recent comments in the media had sparked considerable discussion, and he wished to clarify everything.
Shakib said that his full attention is currently on cricket. He added that at this final stage of his career, he hopes to play for Bangladesh and, if given the opportunity, deliver memorable performances with the best of his abilities.
He further remarked that politics plays an important role in the development of any country. After retiring from cricket, he wishes to contribute to the progress of his country, although it is not necessary that this can only be done through politics. Work for the nation can continue outside political channels.
Shakib noted that achieving things through politics might be easier, but he hopes to conclude his cricketing career with a smile, wearing the red and green jersey.
He also requested the prayers and affection of the people of Bangladesh in pursuit of this aim.
