The technical committee of Pakistan Super League 11 has dismissed an appeal filed by Lahore Qalandars batter Fakhar Zaman, upholding a two-match suspension imposed on him.
The sanction had been handed down by match referee Roshan Mahanama during a fixture between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, after Fakhar Zaman was found to have altered the condition of the ball. The incident led to proceedings against him under a Level 3 offence.
Fakhar Zaman had approached the PSL technical committee in challenge of the referee’s ruling. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that the committee rejected the appeal and maintained the original decision.
According to the PCB, the three-member technical committee heard submissions from both sides before reaching its verdict. The panel comprised Professor Javed Malik, Dr Mamrez Naqshbandi and Syed Ali Naqi.
