Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held on Tuesday a telephone conversation with his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which the regional situation was discussed.
Dar called for an immediate reduction in tensions and said diplomacy remained the only viable path forward. The two leaders exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and stressed the importance of peace and stability, urging restraint and an early easing of tensions. They said dialogue and diplomacy offered the only workable course ahead.
Dar expressed sorrow over the loss of lives, including three Pakistani nationals, in the United Arab Emirates, and reaffirmed full solidarity with the UAE.
The two leaders also exchanged Eid greetings and agreed to remain in close contact.
Separately, on Monday, Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
During the call, both sides discussed recent regional developments. Dar underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy for peace, security and stability in the region and beyond.
Both leaders agreed to maintain close contact as the situation develops.
