Quetta Gladiators captain Saud Shakeel has expressed optimism about securing a place in Pakistan’s white-ball side through strong performances in the forthcoming 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Speaking to the media ahead of the new season, Shakeel said his side had an excellent campaign last year but lost the final at the closing moments. He said he aimed to earn a place in the national white-ball team by delivering consistent performances.
Shakeel added that the Gladiators have new fast bowlers and would strive to produce solid results with them. He also urged supporters to back the team from home.
Referring to comments made in a podcast about fast bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf, Shakeel said the remarks were made in jest.
