Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson said the side’s batting display against Bangladesh in the first one-day international was “extremely disappointing”, admitting the Green Shirts stood exposed against a strong bowling attack on Wednesday.
Speaking after the match in Dhaka, the Pakistan coach said the team must change the situation as quickly as possible. “Our batting performance was extremely disappointing,” Hesson said. “We got exposed in front of good bowling.”
He said young players must receive opportunities to learn, adding that new cricketers often face challenges early in their careers.
“We wish the new players score a century on debut, but they face certain challenges,” the head coach said.
“For new players we must show encouragement and steadfastness,” Hesson added.
Pakistan suffered an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of Bangladesh in the first ODI.
