Several parts of Pakistan are expected to receive rain and windy weather from March 9 to 12, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Authorities have also warned of possible hailstorms in Islamabad and the upper areas of the Potohar region during this period.
According to the NDMA spokesperson, rain is likely in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan over the next few days.
The NDMA report on potential weather conditions between March 9 and 12 indicates a pattern of light rain, storms and partly cloudy weather in various regions.
Storms, rain forecast in Islamabad, Potohar region
Windstorms and light rain are expected in several cities, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum and Mianwali over the next three to four days.
Authorities have also warned that hail may occur in Islamabad and the upper areas of the Potohar region, which could affect local travel and outdoor activities.
Rain expected in several districts of KP
The NDMA said light rain is expected in multiple areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from March 9 to 11. These include Peshawar, Abbottabad, Chitral, Dir, Haripur, Karak, Kohat, Kohistan, Khyber, Kurram, Mansehra, Mohmand, Nowshera and Malakand.
Rainfall is also likely in Charsadda, Bannu, Buner, Swabi and surrounding areas, along with intermittent cloudy weather.
Weather authorities said partly cloudy conditions with light rain at a few places are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. Areas likely to receive rain include Astor, Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer, Ghizer, Hunza, Nagar, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Haveli and Poonch.
Rain alert for upper Punjab
Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has also issued a rain alert for the upper parts of the province.
According to PDMA officials, rain is likely in the Potohar region, Murree, Galiyat and nearby areas during the coming days. Rain is also expected in northern areas of the province between March 9 and 11.
Temperatures likely to rise in Punjab plains
Despite the rainfall forecast in northern areas, temperatures in the plains of Punjab are expected to rise in the coming days, according to PDMA Punjab.
Officials said temperatures could increase by three to four degrees Celsius above normal levels in the province’s plain regions.
