The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has reportedly spent Rs 2 million on observing the Ramadan moon this year.
The expenditure will be approved by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in the 48th cabinet meeting scheduled for February 25.
The agenda for the 48th cabinet meeting, chaired by Sohail Afridi, includes approval of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s expenditures.
According to media reports, the agenda consists of 18 points, with the Rs 2 million spent on moon sighting specifically mentioned.
Govt approval expected
The provincial government will finalize the approval of the committee’s expenses during the meeting. This marks the official sanctioning of funds allocated for the religious observance and ceremonial arrangements for Ramadan.
