A copy of a Henry Ford biography has been returned to a library in the United States nearly 64 years after it was due.
The Richland Public Library in Washington shared on social media that a copy of Allen Nevins’ book, Ford: The Times, The Man, The Company, was recently returned by an individual who had discovered it among books they received from a friend.
According to the post, the book was originally due back on March 17, 1962, meaning it took 63 years and 11 months to be returned.
Library officials estimated that the overdue fine could have amounted to thousands of dollars, but in 2022, the library instituted a full fee-free policy, allowing the book to be returned without penalty.
