The feature film, currently identified as KHxRK, will be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Red Giant Movies.

Their last substantial appearance together was in the 1979 fantasy film Allauddinum Albhutha Vilakkum, directed by I. V. Sasi.
Two years later, Haasan made a brief cameo in Thillu Mullu, directed by K. Balachander, marking their last on-screen moment together.

A spokesperson for Red Giant Movies described the reunion as a deeply emotional milestone.

He added that the production house feels “honored, grateful, and incredibly excited” to facilitate the reunion, calling it a historic moment for Indian cinema.
