Pakistan’s leading film star Mahira Khan has confirmed her return to television, admitting that the move makes her feel both nervous and excited after spending years dominating the big screen.
In an interview with CNN, the Neelofar actress reflected on her nearly 15-year-long journey in the entertainment industry, describing it as an experience filled with overwhelming love, respect, and admiration from audiences.
“Next year will mark 15 years in this industry,” Mahira said, revealing her decision to go back to television. She acknowledged feeling apprehensive about the transition but embraced the uncertainty. “I’m a little scared, but that fear is also what makes it exciting,” she added.
Speaking about her on-screen partnership with Neelofar co-star Fawad Khan, Mahira highlighted the mutual respect that has defined their successful collaborations. “It’s a blessing that we’ve received so much love and respect together,” she said.
She also explained their contrasting acting styles, noting that while she approaches roles spontaneously, Fawad follows a more structured method. “We respect each other’s process, give each other space, and understand each other’s rhythm,” she explained.
Reflecting on her formative years in the United States, Mahira credited her time studying and working in California for shaping her personal and professional growth. “Those years in America were a huge part of my life as a girl from Pakistan,” she shared.
The actress added that she continues to revisit those memories by taking her son to the US every summer, describing that phase of her life as deeply significant and influential.
