Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the government remains open to negotiations even today, but Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is unwilling to engage in dialogue.
Speaking on Samaa TV’s program Nadeem Malik Live, Khawaja Asif stated that only Mahmood Khan Achakzai and a few other political parties are advocating for talks, while PTI continues to reject dialogue.
Earlier, Khawaja Asif also shared a message on social media platform X in response to a letter from Chief Minister Suhail Afridi. He alleged that the leadership of Afridi’s party, including Afridi himself, is attacking Pakistan’s unity.
Khawaja Asif further claimed that party workers, with the backing of their leadership, are using highly offensive language on social media, which he said amounts to disrespect for constitutional offices and harms inter-provincial harmony.
Calling for collective responsibility, the defence minister urged Suhail Afridi and others to jointly condemn such behavior and work together to prevent it.
