Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi called on Sunday for more intelligence-based operations in the province.
Addressing a press conference, Kundi said talks could not take place with those who spoke against the state. He added that the Afghan government had also been told clearly to stop the use of its territory for terrorism.
Kundi said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government should shut its secretariat operating from the Adiala Jail. He asked why the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders were seeking an NRO, and said PTI founder Imran Khan was in jail because of his own actions. He said a convicted person would not secure release through sit-ins.
He said leaders in the past had also endured imprisonment, but no one attempted attacks on the shrines of martyrs. He said that even at the time of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination, his party showed a democratic response, and the PPP leadership never called for attacks on state institutions.
