Marvel Studios is reportedly planning an unusual and ambitious marketing strategy for its upcoming blockbuster Avengers: Doomsday.
According to industry sources, the film’s trailer rollout will be closely tied to the theatrical release of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Avengers: Doomsday is one of Marvel’s biggest upcoming tentpole releases.
To build anticipation, the studio has reportedly decided to release four separate teasers instead of a single trailer.
The strategy is said to be designed to keep audiences engaged over several weeks rather than relying on one major reveal.
According to sources cited by The Hollywood Reporter, the trailer rollout will coincide with the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
Each week, moviegoers will see a different version of the trailer in theatres.
Sources claim Disney will send theatres four trailers for the Marvel mega-movie.
Viewers attending Fire and Ash during opening weekend will see the first teaser, while those returning in later weeks will be shown the second, third, and fourth versions respectively.
Russo brothers return to direct
Avengers: Doomsday is being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously helmed several major Marvel hits. Their past work includes Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.
Speaking earlier at a San Diego Comic-Con panel, the Russo brothers reflected on their journey with Marvel. They said creating stories within the Marvel Cinematic Universe fulfilled a lifelong dream and helped them build a strong connection with audiences.
The duo also expressed excitement about returning to the franchise. They said they are thrilled to collaborate once again with Kevin Feige, Lou D’Esposito, and the wider Marvel team to take the story in new and surprising directions.
Their comments have further fuelled fan anticipation for what the next Avengers chapter will deliver.
Marvel has confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday will hit cinemas on December 18, 2026.
With its staggered trailer strategy and the Russo brothers back at the helm, expectations are already running high.
