Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan has said Pakistan’s security forces are sacrificing their lives to protect the country’s children, calling those who attain martyrdom for the nation ‘people of great honour’.
He also congratulated Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on assuming the role of Chief of Defence Forces, who will now lead all branches of the armed forces.
He made these remarks while addressing a workers’ convention in Faisalabad where the Federal Minister for Communications expressed gratitude to the people of Faisalabad for their warm welcome.
He stated that the security forces are laying down their lives to safeguard future generations. Referring to the India-Pakistan conflict in May, he said “never has it happened that seven enemy aircraft were shot down while not a single one of ours was lost.” Is this how we repay them (security forces) by speaking ill of them?” he remarked.
Referring to what he called the victory of May 10, IPP President said Pakistan’s prestige has risen internationally. “However, some people are burning with jealousy over Pakistan’s success,” he added.
Aleem Khan said that before May 10, the world viewed Pakistanis as beggars, but after the conflict, it became clear that Pakistan is a powerful nation.
“This honour and respect has been granted by Allah, yet some people are troubled by it,” he stated. He added that Pakistanis sleep in peace because of the armed forces. “It is our duty to shut down anyone who speaks against the country or the military,” he remarked.
The federal minister said that governments and positions come and go, but national security is paramount. He urged the youth to strongly counter those spreading propaganda against the military on social media.
“One political party used to say that if Trump came to power, we would be ousted. Today, even Trump praises our military chief. In every speech, he acknowledges Pakistan’s victory,” he said.
