Federal Interior Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday held an important meeting with Saudi Sports Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, focusing on expanding cricket in Saudi Arabia and taking bilateral sports cooperation to new heights.
The visit reflects growing momentum in Pakistan–Saudi sports relations, particularly as Saudi Arabia accelerates its transformation of the sports sector under Vision 2030.
During the meeting, both sides discussed detailed plans to promote cricket in the Kingdom and build stronger institutional coordination between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Officials agreed that the relevant sports bodies in both countries will intensify contact and collaboration in the coming months.

Mohsin Naqvi praised Prince Abdulaziz for his outstanding contributions to sports development, noting that Saudi Arabia is taking “extraordinary steps” under Vision 2030 to elevate its global sporting presence.

Highlighting the Kingdom’s rapid rise as a major venue for international competitions, Naqvi stated that under the patronage of Saudi leadership, the country has “created new history” by successfully hosting world-class tournaments.
He also warmly congratulated Prince Abdulaziz on securing the hosting rights for the FIFA World Cup 2034, calling it a landmark achievement for the Kingdom and the wider region.

Naqvi emphasized that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will use sports, especially cricket, as a powerful bridge of friendship, youth engagement, and regional harmony. He stressed that the growing partnership will help unlock opportunities for athletes, coaches, and sports institutions in both countries.
