In Russia, a man from the city of Tyumen changes his name every year.
According to reports, this citizen changes his full name every year (first name, family name, and even patronymic) in order to avoid paying child support.
He later reverts to his original name and then repeats the cycle. But surprisingly, this strategy does not work. This is because the registry office informs judicial authorities about every name change, preventing him from escaping his legal obligations.
It is worth noting that failure to pay child support in Russia can result in penalties. These include fines, suspension of a driving license, and a ban on foreign travel.
However, intentional non-payment can lead to criminal punishment. If someone deliberately tries to evade payment, they may face up to one year of corrective labour, compulsory labour, or imprisonment (usually from 3 months to 1 year).
