Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Lal Bakhsh Bhutto has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of democratic struggle and decades of public service.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressed profound sorrow over his demise, extending heartfelt condolences to the late leader’s family.

President Zardari said Lal Bakhsh Bhutto’s passing is not only a loss for the party but for the entire nation.
He emphasized that Bhutto played a vital role in strengthening Pakistan’s democratic institutions and remained committed to serving the public throughout his political career.
The president added that Lal Bakhsh Bhutto’s contributions, dedication, and struggle for democracy will always be remembered.
Offering prayers for the departed soul, President Zardari said, “May Allah Almighty grant the deceased a place in the bosom of mercy and give patience to the bereaved family.”
PPP leaders mourn loss
Other PPP leaders also grieved the loss of their senior colleague. Senator Sherry Rehman took to X, paying tribute to the late Bhutto, calling him "a true loyalist, intellectual and thorough gentleman".
"Deeply grieved over the passing of Lal Bakhsh Bhutto in Karachi. He was a true loyalist, intellectual and thorough gentleman. Praying for his soul to rest in peace and for his family to bear such a great loss with fortitude. The [PPP] family too feels the depth of this bereavement at many levels and generations. He will be sorely missed," she wrote in her post.

Similarly, Sindh minister Sharjeel Memon also condoled Bhutto's death, adding that the party stood with the grieved family in this time of grief. "Deeply saddened by the passing of Lal Bux Bhutto Sahab, a respected and dedicated member of the Pakistan Peoples Party. Heartfelt condolences to Senator Nadeem Bhutto and his family. The party stands with them in this time of grief," he wrote in a post on X.
