Samsung appears ready to unveil its most ambitious foldable yet — the Galaxy Z TriFold.
According to multiple credible leaks, the device could launch on December 5, featuring a large battery, cutting-edge display, and a 200MP camera setup.
Leaks about Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone have been circulating for months, but new reports now reveal nearly every major detail about the upcoming device.
Renowned tipster Evan Blass, known for his accurate leaks, posted on X that the phone will officially be called the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold — confirming earlier speculations about the name.
Massive battery and expansive displays
Blass claims the tri-fold phone will pack a 5,437mAh battery, significantly larger than the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 4,400mAh and even the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 5,000mAh.
Given its tablet-like design when unfolded, a higher capacity seems necessary.
The main foldable screen is expected to measure 10 inches with 1,600 nits peak brightness, while the cover display will be 6.5 inches and reach 2,600 nits.
The phone’s unique tri-section design will reportedly vary slightly in thickness — 3.9mm, 4.0mm, and 4.2mm — when fully unfolded.
Power and camera capabilities
The upcoming Galaxy Z TriFold will likely be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, ensuring flagship-level performance.
Photography enthusiasts can look forward to a 200MP main camera, putting the tri-fold in direct competition with Samsung’s premium lineup.
While Blass lists the rated capacity as 5,437mAh, a report from Chosun (via GSMArena) suggests the typical capacity could be 5,600mAh — the figure Samsung would likely advertise.
This difference aligns with standard industry practice, where typical capacity refers to the expected average, while rated capacity reflects the guaranteed minimum.
Design, pricing, and availability
Chosun’s report also mentions that the Galaxy Z TriFold will measure 4.2mm thick when unfolded and 14mm when folded — thicker than the Z Fold 7’s 8.9mm folded profile.
As for pricing, the foldable could carry a hefty $3,000 price tag (around £2,280 / AU$4,565), positioning it as one of Samsung’s most premium devices to date.
The same source hints at a December 5 launch date, though availability may be limited initially. It remains unclear whether the device will see a global release or be restricted to select markets.
