Sheikh Salman noted that football remains the most popular sport in the world, and Pakistan’s passion for it is deeply evident among its people. He reaffirmed FIFA’s commitment to working closely with Pakistan to strengthen the game at all levels.
“You will see changes in the near future,” he assured, while also acknowledging that the country’s football infrastructure still has room for improvement. “Hopefully it will improve in the future, and football will develop,” Sheikh Salman added.
Commitment to football infrastructure
During his discussions with the Pakistan Football Federation, Sheikh Salman talked about various projects aimed at football growth and infrastructure enhancement. He expressed gratitude to the government of Pakistan for its warm hospitality, saying, “I am grateful to the government of Pakistan for the generous hosting.”

Govt pledges full support
Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan also spoke at the event, emphasizing the government’s dedication to supporting sports at every level. He announced that Pakistan will work with FIFA to identify and develop football talent across the country.
“The Prime Minister’s Talent Hunt Program focuses on 30 sports, including football,” Rana Mashhood said. He praised Sheikh Salman’s visit, calling it a positive step toward the promotion of football in Pakistan.
Highlighting the country’s young talent, he added, “Pakistan has talented football youth, and the government is providing opportunities to youth in sports and other fields.” Rana Mashhood expressed confidence that Sheikh Salman’s cooperation with Pakistan will significantly boost the growth of football nationwide.
