The Islamabad administration has made it compulsory for chefs and waiters in restaurants and food points across the federal capital to wear caps while handling food.
According to details surfaced on Saturday, any violation will result in the immediate sealing of the restaurant or food outlet.
New Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have been issued for all restaurants and food points in Islamabad. Under these SOPs, the use of safety caps by all staff dealing with food has been made mandatory in accordance with hygiene principles.
According to the Food Authority, the rule aims to maintain cleanliness and ensure food safety standards in the city. The Director of the Food Authority has urged residents to report any restaurant staff found working without a cap.
Inspection teams have also been directed to visit different areas of the city to ensure strict implementation of the new regulations.
